David Rann is a Black Country-based professional photographer working in Art/Portraiture. He graduated from University of Wolverhampton in 2007 with a BA (Hons) First Class in Photography and is due to complete a part time MA in Fine Art (also from Wolverhampton) this summer.

Like most artists, David also has a commercial practice. In David's case this is based at his studio in Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter, 150m from the Quarter's train station. This website represents David's commissioned work - clients can see (and order) their images via the password-protected galleries accessed by clicking on the Client Galleries link on the menu.

However, this is no traditional High Street portrait studio - in fact from the street there is no indication that there is a studio here at all. Rather, this is an artist's workshop where David creates highly individual images for clients as well as his own art projects. As such, David often works with artists, musicians, entertainers, models, actors to provide stylish portfolios (see Model Portfolios).

The studio is also the venue for his successful regular photography training workshops (see Teaching page for more details). In fact, training is increasingly a feature of David's practice, having been teaching photography at Birmingham Botanical Gardens since 2007.

David undertakes a small number of weddings (see Weddings page) each year, largely on recommendation rather than extensive advertising.

David is a member of the TEN and 5 Go Shooting photographer groups. To see David's art-based work, including the successful "MC1R" ("Gingerfest") and "Mona Lisa Men" projects, please follow the link from the Links page or go to www.davidrann.com.
